If you are a Facebook user, you should know about the Los Osos Fire Awareness group. Moderated by Emily Miggins and Tom Wright, it's a grassroots effort to mobilize and educate residents of Los Osos to protect their homes, our community and the natural environment from the threat of fire. Check it out.
CAL FIRE performed fuel break maintenance work this summer around the perimeter of Cabrillo Estates. One of our members recently expressed concern that the work done actually created a fire hazard. We contacted Alan Peters at CAL FIRE and received a prompt and lengthy explanation from him of the scope of the project and how it was done.
